Atlanta, Ga. (July 18, 2016) – Aegex Technologies has appointed Rom-Control Pty Ltd in Australia as a dealer for its range of Aegex’s intrinsically safe Windows 10 tablets for hazardous industrial environments.
In addition to providing Aegex tablets, Rom-Control provides complete electronic and process control assets management services, offering maintenance, repair and refurbishing of electronic equipment.
As one of Aegex’s dealers around the globe, Rom-Control will offer Aegex IoT solutions for hazardous locations in Australia, including the Aegex10 Intrinsically Safe tablet, a Windows 10 enterprise tablet that is globally certified for use in the most explosive hazardous locations worldwide. The Aegex device is the first to run the Windows 10 operating system and be certified for use in UL 913 Class 1 Division 1 hazardous locations in the United States, CSA 22.2 in Canada, and ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
“Rom-Control is proud to be able to offer companies in Australia the world’s first Windows-based, IECEx-certified 10.1-inch tablet PC for use in Zone1 hazardous areas. We have already seen tremendous interest in Australia for IECEx-certified equipment,” said Michael Horowitz, managing director of Rom-Control. “Rom-Control sees the addition of the Aegex partnership as a natural fit to our current efforts to offer our customers the best range of products and services available,” he added.
Aegex tablets are intrinsically safe, meaning they are incapable of producing a spark sufficient to ignite an explosion. The tablets allow users to record, transmit and analyse real-time data from within the most hazardous zones of oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, public safety, utilities and other industrial operations that operate highly explosive environments. With cloud connectivity and Windows 10 enterprise applications, Aegex allows personnel in hazardous locations to communicate instantaneously with the rest of their organisations, improving efficiency and productivity. Aegex tablets are built on a uniform platform and Intel architecture and are customisable for diverse workforce needs.
